When I watched the movie Thirteen starring Evan Rachel Wood and Nikki Reed for the first time I was inspired and worshiped their rebellious characters. Everytime I hear this song (which is played at the very end of the movie) I get really teary eyed. Especially watching it now as an adult. Time flies, y’all…
Things get crazy and I feel like I’m losing my mind, I don’t know what to do, I’m going insane and I really don’t know why, There’s only one thing to do, I’m floating through the night on a red eyeee red eyeee
Do you remember when
We couldn’t put it away?
Do you remember what the music meant?
(To you?) (To me?) (To you?) (To me?)
Life’s complications and frustrations
They disappear when the music starts playing
I found a place where it feels alright
I heard a record and it opened my eyes
Alas… after searching high and low on the interwebz for one of my favorite Texans debut album, it turns up on Spotify. YES. I have high standards for these Dupree ladies. With Stacy sweeping me off of my feet with Sucre, Chauntelle just didn’t quite do it for me with Rising Fawn. I wanted to love it so bad. I’m only Starring “Everlasting Songs”. Le sigh… I still love you, girl.
